No, tooth gem application does not hurt at all. It is very similar to applying an orthodontic bracket.
 

Unfortunately, tooth gems cannot be applied if you have braces. If you wear a retainer, it is possible to work around it, bring it in and we can take a look.
 

No these are not permanent as there is no drilling required. These are semi-permanent. 

Yes, you can still whiten your teeth after you get your tooth gem. It is recommended to whiten your teeth after application or at least 1 week prior to a tooth gem application. Do not worry, it will not leave dotted stains on your tooth. 

Unfortunately, a tooth gem can only be applied on a real porous tooth. It will not work on false teeth. 

No, there is no damage to your teeth during application. However, do not force a removal on your own. Have a dentist remove it or let it fall off naturally to avoid enamel damage.(temporary gems can just be picked off easily with floss)
